The science fiction mystery Kotlovan explores the history of the giant Mir quarry, the fates of the people living on its edge, and its possible future. It was as if people had become participants in a great experiment, in isolation from the rest of the world they had created their own unique world, proving that humans could adapt to the most incredible conditions for living. Architect Nikolai Lyutomsky, whose project of an ecocity under a dome promises to transform an abandoned industrial zone into an oasis. Scientists from a secretive institute, who have spent decades creating closed ecosystems for space, join the mission, combining past achievements with innovation.

Nikolay Bem (Russia) Education: Krasnoyarsk State University Faculty of Law, Department of Social Work. Founder of the SiberiaDOC project. Member of the «Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation», the «Guild of Non-FictionFilms and Television». Participated in many educational programs:screenwriting workshops on documentary films in 2007 and 2016. Participantof the «Producer workshop» at the «Marche du Film» Festival de Cannes andthe LAB «French-Russian Film Academy 2012» in Paris. Participant of the Ex-Oriente IDF program (Czech Republic) in 2018. In 2021, he became a laureate of the Russian Society of Knowledge Award for his contribution toeducation in the field of Culture and art. In 2024, he received the V.I.Tregubovich State Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
