The Baikal International Film Festival "Man and Nature" named after V.G.Rasputin was established by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and the Irkutsk Regional Branch of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
The festival has been held in Irkutsk since 1999 (annually since 2007) with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Government of the Irkutsk Region, the Ministry of Culture and the Irkutsk Region Archives. At the beginning of its history, the film festival was dedicated to Lake Baikal Day, an interregional holiday established on the initiative of public environmental organizations of the Irkutsk and Chita Regions and the Republic of Buryatia. Now the festival has reached a new level and has become known far beyond the Irkutsk Region and the Russian Federation.

In 2013 graduated with honors from the Screenwriting and Film Studies Faculty of VGIK (Armen Medvedev's workshop). He has been involved in editorial and production activities at Central Studio of Popular Science and Educational Films, Gorky Film Studio, Mars Media Entertainment and Mosaic Films, as well as teaching at VGIK, Moscow State University, RANEPA, HSE University, and the "Place of Power" film school.
Currently, Andrei Apostolov is the chief editor of Lenfilm Studio, a lecturer at Moscow School of New Cinema, Moscow International University, The Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, and the "Industry" film school, as well as the program director of the "Gorky Fest" (Nizhny Novgorod) and "Window to Europe" (Vyborg) film festivals.

EMERITUS PROF. DR. DRAGAN MILINKOVIC FIMON, SERBIA/FRANCE
Professor Fimon is an eminent university professor, producer, drama writer and director. He graduated from the Belgrade Drama School and won his Master’s degree at the Belgrade Faculty of Philology – Sociology of Literature department. Following scientific research in Paris (Cultural Centre George Pompidou) and London (British Film Institute), he completed his PhD with thesis on Possibilities of filming a novel.
Fimon is also known to be a producer, director and associate of films and TV projects, author of several books and essays (film history and theory, sociology of arts, cultural economics and economics of arts), and author of many workshops.
He has been internationally active as the jury member of many international film festivals. Furthermore, he has been the Executive director of the Serbian Film Centre and president of the Serbian Association if Film Societies.
Professor Fimon is author and main instructor of the “Film in Schools”project. From December 2017 he was Vice President of CIFEJ – International Centre of Films for children and Young People (Centre international du film pour l’enfance et la jeunesse).
HONGYUN SUN (China)
Associate Professor at Beijing Film Academy. Her first feature documentary film INTO THE SHAOLIN, which was nominated for the main competition at the 45th Moscow International Film Festival and honored with the "Russian Documentary Guild" award. The film's critical acclaim extended to other festivals, including Doc Edge, San Francisco International Film Festival, and Doc NYC, etc. Hongyun holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies from Beijing Normal University and is a postdoctoral researcher at China Film Art Research Center and a visiting scholar at New York University. Her two monographs are Truth Game: New Documentary in the west and Studies on Chinese Documentary.
HAKAN AYTEKİN (Turkey)
Hakan Aytekin was born in Ankara in 1961 He completed his undergraduate degree in Ankara University Technical School of Press and Broadcast. He earned his PhD degree in documentary cinema. He has many productions as a scenarist and director in documentary cinema since 1988 He has directed several movies on social memory and identity (especially Syriac culture). He participated in many film festivals and won various national and international awards. Besides the scenarios, he has also written articles, books, stories, and essays. Currently, he is working as Assoc. Prof in Maltepe University Communication Faculty and as head of the Department of Radio Cinema and Television.
