ABOUT

The Baikal International Film Festival "Man and Nature" named after V.G.Rasputin was established by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and the Irkutsk Regional Branch of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.

The festival has been held in Irkutsk since 1999 (annually since 2007) with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Government of the Irkutsk Region, the Ministry of Culture and the Irkutsk Region Archives. At the beginning of its history, the film festival was dedicated to Lake Baikal Day, an interregional holiday established on the initiative of public environmental organizations of the Irkutsk and Chita Regions and the Republic of Buryatia. Now the festival has reached a new level and has become known far beyond the Irkutsk Region and the Russian Federation.
