The submission of entries for participation in 24 Baikal International Film Festival “People and Environment” n.a. V. G. Rasputin is open, the festival will be held September 22 - 30 2025 in Irkutsk.
The Festival “People and Environment” was conceived by the organizers as a film platform which gives the possibility to think about the relationship between human and nature.
The Festival program includes contest screenings of documentary and popular-science films, feature and full-dome films and animated films; non-contest themed programs chosen from the films participating in the competition or specially chosen by the organizers; professional panel discussions in the form of round-tables, conferences, forums, press-discussions, workshops from prominent filmmakers and scientists.
Baikal pitching is held within the framework of the Festival.
Nomination List of the Festival:
- Grand Prix n.a. V. Rasputin (including 500 000 Russian rubles award if you have a russian bank account)
- The best documentary film, prize n.a. M. Romm;
- The best popular-science film, prize n.a. I. Cherskiy;
- The best feature film, prize n.a. L. Gaidai;
- The best full-dome film, prize n.a. A. Don-Otello;
- The best animated film;
- Baikal Prize.
The Festival jury committee reserves a right to award a film from any nomination with a special diploma.
There are special awards for the Festival as well.
State, public, educational entities and other organizations present their awards at the Festival, as well as the personalized awards. The winners of the Festival are awarded with prizes (statuettes), diplomas.
The Festival provides accommodation and catering for the films’ representatives included in the contest program.
Also within the available funds transportation expenses can be reimbursed (fully or partially). The full participation of the representative of the film crew (director / cameraman / screenwriter / producer / performer of the main role) in festival events and the personal presentation of the film to the audience is one of the most important conditions for the film to enter the competition program.
The Festival does not pay for submitted films.
Entry Forms are accepted from 10 th of February till 20th of April 2025. We accept films not earlier than the 2023 release.
